Which visa do you need?
If you need a visa to enter Canada (not visa-exempt), you apply for a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV). Visa-exempt nationals fly with an eTA instead.
How to apply online
Create an account at canada.ca/IRCC, complete the visitor visa application, upload supporting documents, pay the CAD $100 fee, then book biometrics at the nearest VAC.
Evidence Canada looks for
- Proof of funds (CAD $2,500+ typical)
- Purpose of visit and detailed itinerary
- Ties to home country
- Travel history
- Letter of invitation from Canadian host if applicable
