Where to apply
Apply at the embassy or VFS centre of the country where you will spend the most days. If your nights are split evenly, apply at the country of first entry.
Schengen document checklist
- Completed application form, signed
- Two recent passport photos (35x45mm, light background)
- Passport valid 3 months beyond return + 2 blank pages
- Travel insurance with minimum €30,000 cover
- Return flight reservation (do not buy tickets before approval)
- Hotel bookings or invitation letter for full stay
- Bank statements for 3 months
- Employer letter with approved leave
Processing time
Standard processing is 15 calendar days. In busy seasons (June–August) it can extend to 30–45 days. Apply at least 6 weeks before travel.
